CRICKET: RIPLEY moved off the foot of the Division One table, despite narrowly losing to Wandgas away last Saturday.
On what was one of the hottest days of the year, Ripley won the toss and elected to bat first on a firm wicket.
Ben Scott’s side got off to a slow start, losing two wickets for just 25 after 14 overs.
However, a decent partnership between Nasser Hussain (26) and Shakeel Khan (73) helped to steady the innings for Ripley.
When Hussain departed, followed quickly by Jon Primmett and Sam Hoggett, Khan joined forces with Harry Jamil (29) to help accelerate the scoring, but with the lower order falling for just eight runs, Ripley found themselves all out for 159 runs.
