FOR local bakers looking for a challenge to rise to, why not enter the festival’s free Bake Off competition taking place on Sunday, September 7.
The competition will be judged by Great British Bake Off 2013 winner, Frances Quinn. Speaking about the competition, she said: “I’m extremely excited to be judging the Bake Off.
“Baking is something that I’ve always been passionate about and I know many other people feel the same – so I can’t wait to see the entries.
“I’ll be looking for sponge cakes with a great consistency, fluffy, light and not too dense, and with fantastic overall presentation – basically a cake that just makes you want to take a huge bite!”
Adding some extra sizzle to the Woking Food & Drink Festival will be the Broil King BBQ Demonstration Stage, located in Gloucester Square and presented by chef Richard Fox.
If you thought barbeque fayre was the sole domain of the burger and sausage, then you’ll have to think again because expert chefs guarantee to inspire, entertain and inform you.
This year’s Woking Food & Drink Festival is delivered in partnership by Celebrate Woking and Woking Shopping, and kindly sponsored by Tante Marie Culinary Academy, Balfour Beatty, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Mayer Brown among others.
