OFFICERS searching for a missing New Haw man have found a man’s body.
Phillip Tutton, 33, has not been in contact with family or friends since Thursday, June 4, and police have been in an area around St Ann’s Lake, Chertsey, for the past two days following the discovery of his vehicle.
This afternoon (Thursday, June 11) a body was found in woodland at the same location and although it has not formally been identified Phillip’s family have been informed.
A police statement said: “Surrey Police would like to thank Surrey Search and Rescue Service and all those who assisted with the investigation into Phillip’s disappearance. Our thoughts are with his family and friends at this extremely difficult time.”
The death is being treated as unexplained but there is not believed to be any third party involvement and a file will be prepared and passed to the coroner in due course.
