Officers link discovery to missing man

A BODY has been found in the search for a missing man, who vanished from St Peter’s Hospital.

The discovery was made just before 7pm on Friday, August 15 by a Surrey Police search team off St Peter’s Way in Addlestone.

Although the body has yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of James Phelan. The 42-year-old was last seen in the A&E Department of St Peter’s Hospital at 7pm on Friday, August 8.

His next of kin have been made aware of the discovery and at this time the death is being treated as unexplained.

CCTV images released by Surrey Police earlier this week as part of their ongoing efforts to establish his movements, show Mr Phelan arriving at and subsequently leaving the hospital.

Mr Phelan’s partner has made an emotional plea to  anyone who may have seen him to contact the police.
