SUMMER seems finally to be here, with plenty of sunshine set to bathe the appropriately named ShyneFest this Saturday.

The family-friendly live music event opens in the ground of Merrist Wood College at 10am, featuring an eclectic line-up of acts.

“Headlining the festival will be the UK’s number 1 dance anthems band, Rhythm of the 90s, performing iconic throwbacks from the decade,” said organiser Shyne Adcock.

“Other notable acts include Republica, The Replicants and The True Deceivers, among many others, promising to be an unforgettable weekend of music and fun.”

In addition to the music, the festival will feature a variety of family-friendly activities, including escape rooms, a silent disco and animal encounters, as well as multiple bars and food stalls.

Known for its vibrant atmosphere and community spirit, the festival is raising money for the Halow Project – a charity that nurtures and supports young adults with learning disabilities and autism to live independent lives – and is also offering 50 free tickets to NHS workers for this year’s festival as a thank you for their support in helping Shyne’s son overcome his heart condition earlier this year.
