A MAN from Woking has died after being hit by a train at Guildford station late last night (March 30).

British Transport Police confirmed that a 22-year-old passed away from fatal injuries after falling on to the tracks.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses following the incident, which happened at around 11.40pm on Saturday.

A BTP statement said that the victim was “involved in an altercation” at the station shortly before his death.

It also said: “Detectives are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the death, which is currently being treated as suspicious.”

A spokesman confirmed three people were arrested.
