IT’S beginning to look a lot like Christmas… now that Woking’s Jubilee Square is bathed in the warm glow of this year’s Yuletide lights.

WOKING LIGHTS THE WAY – swarms of Woking residents were out in force to catch a spectacular show prior to the big switch-on
The town centre was draped in an army of hundreds on Thursday last week, with guests taking protective measures to beat the winter chill by wearing woolly hats and festive scarves. But if their warm clothing didn’t raise temperatures then the spectacular array of entertainment laid on in the heart of the borough certainly did.
Performances by the upbeat cast of LazyTown Live, as well as dancers from local schools, including the highly talented Sumerscales troupes, for a toe-tappingly good evening.

THEY’VE SCALED NEW HEIGHTS – Summerscales dazzled their audience with some carefully choreographed numbers
Among the sea of people, Titan the Robot greeted families and posed for photos with young fans. Back up on the main stage, gasps could be heard as St Nick himself took time from his busy schedule to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
Star of the show, however, was CBeebies star Justin Fletcher, who led the countdown before plunging down the button that officially lit up Woking ahead of Christmas 2014.
A dazzling display of fireworks added an extra glow to the exciting evening, sending youngsters home dreaming of the delights that await them next month.
