THE co-founder of the Ambassadors Theatre Group has been named Entrepreneur of the Year at a glittering black tie event.
Rosemary Squire OBE is the first woman ever to scoop the Overall Winner prize at the UK finals of the EY Entrepreneur of the Year awards. Earlier in the evening, she also won the Entrepreneur award in the Private Equity-Backed category.
Rosemary collected both prizes at a dinner held at The Brewery in London, and said: “For our company and my contribution to be recognised by the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards is an enormous honour.”
“I have the support of a fantastic team at ATG who share our vision and desire to make our company the best, across not just the UK, but the rest of the world, too.
“The arts – and particularly theatre – are too often overlooked as not making a significant contribution to the wider economy. These awards, and ATG’s fantastic British success story, prove this is not the case.
“Personally I would like to thank EY for this recognition, my husband and business partner, Howard, for being on this incredible journey with me, Exponent and Providence Equity Partners, and everyone at ATG for their commitment.”
Rosemary will now go on to represent the UK at the World Entrepreneur of the Year Awards in Monte Carlo in June. The double accolade comes just four months after Rosemary was named the only Master Entrepreneur for the London & South Region at EY’s Entrepreneur of the Year regional finals.
