Last week the News & Mail reported how Steve had fast become a national star after winning twice in the new TV talent show, bagging a tidy £30,000. Now he’s the champ.

Hosted by comic presenter Alan Carr, each episode has members of the public singing their chosen songs live while viewers have control of their destiny.

It all started when Steve sent in an video of himself in action and was selected from thousands of hopefuls to appear on an episode of the live show.

He said: “I’d been jobbing around the entertainment circuit for a while but the acting work had just about dried up. I was at the point of wondering how I was going to make my next mortgage payment; that’s when I thought I might as well have a go at this.

“Not bad money for three days’ work – it has really changed my life. I’m not sure what I’ll do with the money yet, as I’m still in shock, but I will be taking my girlfriend Carla to Disney World.”

Steve’s agent is currently in discussions about his future projects.
