THOUSANDS of runners and spectators crowded into the Woking Leisure Centre grounds for the fifth Mercer Surrey Half Marathon on Sunday.
A special feature this year was the double-decker biscuit bus, offering refreshments with a “bird’s-eye view” of the event. There was other food and drink for sale as well as face painting, live music and charity stalls.
There were some future running stars in the 550-strong Kids Race, which is one of the UK’s largest closed-road running races for children aged 6 and over. The whole field sprinted the first 100m of the 2km race
