AMBITIOUS proposals for the redevelopment of West Byfleet’s District Centre have taken a step forward, with the first pre-consultation workshop scheduled for Thursday (4 February).
Last August, Altitude Real Estate bought the site on Station Approach, including the empty Sheer House office block.
The company hope to create a ‘vibrant mixed-use space that ties in with the area and provides the possibility of a large space for community activities and public focus’.
Prior to a public consultation, Altitude will hold a series of drop-in sessions in the Cornerstone Centre. A company spokesman said: “We want to listen to residents’ views and aspirations for the entire village, as well as our site, and hope this will give us a better understanding of the community’s needs.”
Key stakeholders are invited to the first session from 1pm to 3pm, with subsequent slots of 3.30pm to 5.30pm for existing businesses, and between 6pm and 8pm for members of the public.
Workshops will be held in the Dora Honor Room, Cornerstone Centre, Camphill Road, West Byfleet.
