CHOBHAM Flower Festival proved as popular as ever on Saturday, raising a superb £1,756 for Woking Hospice.
With this year’s Nature’s Gifts theme, 31 stunning table arrangements went on display in the village hall on Station Road; thanks to the generous creative donations from local flower clubs, churches, WI groups and individuals.
Judging the best of the bunch came under the scrupulous vote of the public, and the winner was The Coign Church, whose floral designer won a £10 Garden Gift Voucher.
Other attractions at the festival included an excellent plant stall, homemade cakes, preserves, chutneys and jams, a tombola, other flower displays and refreshments.
The competition flower arrangements were won in the raffle by lucky visitors, while The Sun Inn and White Hart generously donated meal vouchers for the Silent Auction.
Hospice volunteer Chrissie Eggleton said: “We are grateful to the Chobham
Carnival and Hyland Fitzwater Solicitors for generous donations; also to GU24, Village Life, Round & About and Knaphill News magazines for helping to advertise the event.
“I would like to thank the team who work so hard behind the scene to make this such a lovely day.”
