GOLF: YOUNGSTERS hoping to follow in the footsteps of golfing superstars such as Rory McIlroy, Justin Rose and Ian Poulter have been honing their skills with the expert PGA professionals at Hoebridge Golf Centre throughout the summer.
Hoebridge Golf Centre hosted five three-day long coaching camps to help develop the basic skills required for juniors to manoeuvre their way around a course.
Utilising the public pay-and-play centre’s practice facilities, including a 36-bay covered driving range, putting green, short game area and 18-hole short course, youngsters benefitted from the expert tutelage of the resident team of PGA professionals, learning all the basics of the game including putting, chipping and iron play.
General Manager at Hoebridge Golf Centre, Mike O’Connell, said: “The idea behind our junior coaching camps is to help develop youngsters’ interest in the game, by providing them with the technical support required to help them to experience vast improvements, helping to boost their confidence.
“Our popular junior coaching camps offer girls and boys an opportunity to get to grips with the basics of the game in a fun and relaxed atmosphere before progressing on to more advanced skills and techniques.”
Hoebridge Golf Centre boasts an active junior section spearheaded by PGA Professional Ben Rosser, who offers a variety of coaching packages for golfers of all ages and ability throughout the year.
