THE sun blazed down on Sunday morning as more than 460 runners set out to raise money for charities in challengingly hot temperatures.
They were taking part in the third charity run organised by Woking Lions for their community good causes.
Nuffield Health of West Byfleet ran a warm-up session for participants before the 10am start at MacLaren Park.
Seventy people registered for the 5k event, 275 for the 10k and 120 for the half marathon.
The route was off road and predominantly flat, in wooded parts of Horsell Common, with a small hill near the end. Strategically placed water stations were located along the way, as the temperature rose to 32C.
