FOUR people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the discovery of a man’s body.
Police were called to the Woking Hotel in Chertsey Road on Wednesday morning (August 26) and cordoned off parts of the town centre while investigations into the death unfolded.
Senior Investigating Officer Detective Chief Inspector, Karen Mizzi, said: “This is a tragic incident where a man has lost his life and our thoughts are with his family and friends at this very difficult time.
“We are in the very early stages of the investigation but I am extremely keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Chertsey Road in the early hours of Wednesday morning who may have seen or heard anything out of the ordinary.
“I appreciate that this incident will have been extremely concerning for local people and we are working closely with our Woking Safer Neighbourhood Team colleagues to keep residents and local businesses informed.”
The four people arrested in connection with this incident are a woman in her 20s, a man in his 30s, a man in 40s and a man in his 50s. They remain in police custody.
Officers are continuing to make a number of enquiries in the area and ask anyone with information which might help the investigation to contact Surrey Police on 101, quoting Operation Orca.
