CROWDS of Cards fans and weekend shoppers stopped by at the official Woking Football Club Shop in Wolsey Walk on Saturday morning to meet the first team squad prior to their friendly match at home to AFC Wimbledon.
Recent signing and ex-Southampton forward, Nicky Banger, and his commercial operations team put on the well-attended meet and greet, as the club continue their award-winning community work while dreaming-up innovative ways of squeezing the most out of their budget for their highly anticipated campaign.
With club mascot KC Kat high-fiving his way around Jubilee Square like a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof in the scorching July heat, manager Garry Hill’s squad posed for official team photos with Deputy Mayor Derek McCrum, as well as other local luminaries in the business world.
Cherished ‘selfies’ and signed baseball caps followed aplenty as Kingfield’s kids (and big kids alike) poured into the club store to grab a cherished memento from their Cards heroes, who included local boys Giuseppe Sole, Joe McNerney and Kevin Betsy, as well as a couple of new faces in James Clarke and Theo Lewis.
An agreement has also been reached with Andreas Carter Sports that will see Joma named the official kit supplier for Woking for the 2014/15 season. The deal will see Andreas Carter Sport become the official and exclusive franchisee of the Woking Football Club Shop at Kingfield and also the online store.
The arrangement entails the club receiving a licensing fee and a share of any profits from sales. In addition, Joma have worked closely with the club and Andreas Carter Sports to produce a limited-edition home shirt to commemorate the club’s 125-year anniversary.
Cards’ Sales & Marketing Executive, Elliot Machin said: “The deal represented the best value and presents an exciting opportunity to continue growing in the coming years.”
