Concern over traffic plan

Dear Editor,

I AM concerned about the traffic management proposals for the Chertsey Road (A319) and Windsor Road (B383) junction in Chobham which were shown at the Fairoaks Garden Village exhibition. The suggestion is that vehicles should be prohibited from turning right from Chertsey Road into Windsor Road.

When asked how people were to get to north Chobham and Sunningdale and beyond, the traffic planner, Gary Heard, stated that vehicles would turn right into either Delta Road or Mincing Lane. I assume that Mr Heard has never driven down either of those roads.

Delta Road was constructed at a time when motor vehicles were rare. It was built as a cul-de-sac, at just 17.9ft wide, but now takes traffic on to Burr Hill Lane, Windsor Court Road and Bowling Green Road and then Windsor Road.

David Monk,

Chobham
