CRICKET: CHOBHAM’s disappointing season continued last Saturday after they succumbed to another heavy defeat, this time against relegation rivals Roehampton.
The visitors won the toss and, unsurprisingly, opted to bat first against a youthful Chobham bowling line-up.
Despite their age, Sam Braid (1-14) and Jasper Bowry (3-26) could have each taken more wickets as Roehampton rode their luck in the face of late movement and inconsistent bounce.
Even so, Roehampton were still reduced to 96-5 at the halfway stage of the innings, as Chobham rightfully fancied their chances of restricting the visitors to a manageable total.
