WOKING’s star-laden annual panto has had a makeover – oh yes, it has!
The show, Sleeping Beauty, has so far been dominated by the first professional pantomime appearance by Katie Price, aka everyone’s favourite reality TV star and supermodel Jordan.
She has been playing wicked fairy Malevolence – but the role has now switched to former EastEnders legend Anita Dobson, best known for playing the Queen Vic landlady Angie Watts.
Anita (right), who has also played Queen Elizabeth in Armada, Mama Morton in the hit musical Chicago, and appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, says: “Pantomime is such a great love of mine.
“Being on stage surrounded by sparkling scenery and costumes, working with a fantastic company and hearing the children in the audience having such a great time gives me such a buzz.
“I love Malevolence, a role I’ve played many times before and I can’t wait to get that costume back on and start being bad again, I’ll have all of those children booing and hissing in no time!”
Anita will star as Malevolence in Sleeping Beauty until the end of its run on Sunday, January 10.
