LOCALS hailed to the ale during the 22nd installment of the ever-popular Woking Beer Festival on Friday and Saturday.
Among the happy punters was Christine Elliot (right) who was not alone as she tried her arm in the tombola and sampled some 70 real ales and ciders fetched in from across the country and overseas.
Friday night was a particular hit with tickets sold out well before the doors opened to a thirsty public. Organised by the self-styled Campaign for Real Ale – a team who take it upon themselves to give the gift of quality brewing to the wider community –the event gifted each visitor a commemorative pint glass they could take home as a souvenir.
“It’s always a grand weekend,” said punter James Boots, 28. “There are plenty of ales and ciders to try and the atmosphere is always right on point.
“Planning a session so far in advance can be tricky but we always make an appearance.”
