THE streets were painted pink on Friday evening when hundreds of Woking & Sam Beare supporters turned out to back their local hospices in the annual Midnight Walk.
A wave of women young and not so young flocked to Mercedes-Benz World in Brooklands last week, with fancy dress the order of the day.
Feather boas, funky glasses, neon paint, floral headgear and the iconic flashing bunny ears all helped to light up the night of giving – which will go a long way to helping to finance the hospices’ new facilities in Goldsworth Park.
A brand new route was laid on for participants this year, with walkers taking on an eight-mile journey through Brooklands, Byfleet and Addlestone before heading through Weybridge and back to Mercedes-Benz World for refreshments and a medal at the finish line to mark their achievement.
The ninth installment of the popular event generated an electric atmosphere, with donations expected to eclipse £85,000.
