LETTINGS activity is now underway for the town’s fresh new market – scheduled to open to the sounds of traders in the autumn.
The development will see the existing market move to a new state-of-the-art covered area located directly between the two shopping centres in what was previously known as Peacock Walk.
In recognition of the change of use, the area will become Market Walk.
With 15 purpose-built kiosks and seven additional units, the market will provide a seven-day-a-week home for independent, entrepreneurial retailers and caterers wishing to establish themselves in the heart of the thriving town centre.
There will be a strong bias towards fresh, high-quality produce, with the new stalls specifically designed to accommodate butchers, greengrocers, also fresh fish and delicatessen produce.
The council have appointed trade specialists Quarterbridge to advise on lettings and management of the new market.
Managing Director Raymond Linch said: “Rarely have we been involved with such a well conceived scheme.
“The location is excellent, already enjoying substantial pedestrian flow. The ease of access to all the car parks and loading facilities make the proposition one of the best we have been fortunate enough to work on.
“We have already established a significant list of interested parties and look forward to working with new and creative retailers to provide Woking with a 21st-century market home for independent retailing.”
Retailers and traders keen to take advantage of the lettings opportunities available should email Quarterbridge at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 01206 710999.
Lettings criteria and operational and financial terms are available on request from Quarterbridge.
