LUCK had no part to play when, for the third year running, two students from Woking College won the right to have their work on display at the prestigious Mall Galleries in London in March.
The annual competition is run in partnership with The National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Society together with the Royal Society of British Artists and each year the number of schools
submitting their best work continues to rise.
Holly Hunt and Lois Sander had their work photographed and submitted by Young Arts Representative for the Mayford DFAS Jan Rubin, and both students are thrilled with the good news. Holly (right) with ‘Sarah’ is now completing a Foundation Year at Farnham, specialising in Fine Art which she wants to continue studying in a London art college next year. Lois is taking a year off to decide her future.
Credit once again goes to teacher Chris Bird who has played an important role in the pair’s development, and the development of artists studying before them.
Chairman of Mayford DFAS Rae Robbins said: “We have been delighted to support Holly and Lois. Their success is a credit to themselves and the college and it shows just how vibrant is the artistic scene in our area.”
